Show Hidden Files and Folders

By default, Windows XP hides the important system files for security reasons.

If you want to show hidden files and folders in Windows XP, perform the following steps:

1. Go to Start, Control Panel.

2. Open Folder Options and select the Viewtab.

3. Mark the Show hidden files and folder option.

NOTE: If you want to hide everything unmark the option Show hidden files and folders.

The other way, if you want to hide private information:

1. Right-click on a folder/file and click on Properties.

2. Mark hidden at the bottom of the screen.

From now on, the selected files will be hidden and unless the person who uses the computer knows how to show a file, he will not be able to see the hidden folders and files.
