| Reset Password in Windows Vista |
|
The situation is critic. PC with Windows Vista Home Premium. The registered user with administrative privileges forgot his password! As it is known, the Administrator account in Windows is not changeable as default, what makes impossible to access as the administrator and reset its password. But someone found the solution, and in a very effective way! Lets see how…. Requirements: Windows Vista Home Premium DVD (or any other version) The first thing you should do is to boot with the DVD and when you reach the installation screen , click on the last option System Recovery. By entering this link, some options will appear, click in Command Console (normally the last one). A command screen of Windows NT opens where you have to put the following:
ren sethc.exe sethc-org.exe copy cmd.exe sethc.exe
CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 (ENTER). A window will open with the names of the registered users in Vista.
It is also possible from the users and passwords form (Step 7) to create a new user with Administrator privileges (joining it to the group “Administrators”). By creating this new account if we have any similar problem, we can start with this one the Windows session, go to control panel, user accounts, and reset the password of the user with problems. Note: This case applies in a installation in C:, if Windows Vista is installed in another drive( D:, E:, etc) substitute it for the correct one. ( 1 Vote ) |
