How to restore Windows Registry


The Windows registry is a database containing all the information of the Hardware and Software of a computer, it has the applications and devices installed and their configurations, including the operating system itself.

In this tutorial we will see how we can restore a backup using the tutorial Backup the Windows Registry of all or part of the registry. This tutorial applies to any version of Windows. If you do not understand the terms used, please first read the article referring to Windows registry.

Restoring

First access the Registry. Go to the Run menu, type regedit and press Enter.

note: we can also write regedit.exe

Once in the registry editor select what you want to restore (restore).

On the File menu select the Import option ... which opens a dialog box "Open."

In the dialog navigate to where the files are located. Reg, our backups. 

 



Select the backup to use.

Just give the order to include a copy of the current registry to the registry and Ready!
